Gillian qualified from Newcastle University in 1986 and immediately joined the Avenue Parade practice which her father, Gerry Lawson, had been running since 1961. Gillian and her father were partners in the practice up until Gerry’s retirement in 2009.

Gillian is married with two children but continues to use her maiden name professionally to promote Avenue Parade’s background as a family-run dental practice
